Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has described Oyo State Governor as a man of vision and a passionate agent of change commending the Governor’s persistence and drive to leave a legacy of infrastructure revolution and innovation to the good people of Oyo State.
He said this during the groundbreaking ceremony of the upgraded Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, which was held at the airport premises in Ibadan.
He said: “It is my pleasure to attend this groundbreaking event for the upgrade of Ibadan Airport to Ladoke Akintola International Airport. There is no doubt that Ibadan, the political capital of the Yoruba people, deserves a befitting international airport.
“I congratulate my dear brother, Governor Seyi Makinde on this accomplishment. My brother is a man of vision, a passionate agent of development, and a man God is using to upgrade Oyo State in all facets of life.
“I bring best wishes and partnership to the good people of Oyo state. Our common good fortune is for the mutual benefit of our people. Governor Makinde, I salute your persistence and drive to leave a legacy of infra revolution and innovation to the good people of Oyo State.
“For us in Osun state and less than two years into our tenure, we are pushing ahead with a very ambitious governance agenda. We are building roads, bridges, flyovers. We are upgrading schools, and health centers and reviving agriculture.
“We have turned Osun into a huge construction site. We adopt a local content policy to deepen the local economy, create jobs for our people, and spread skills acquisition. Like Governor Makinde who is the Mr. Actualiser of Oyo state, I am in a hurry to take Osun to an agro- industrial export-oriented economy.
“To that end, I am glad to announce to this August gathering that our government has concluded plans to complete the almost 12-year-old Osun Airport project. Our Airport vision has now been upgraded to include a cargo terminal alongside a free trade zone under a PPP arrangement.
“I commend the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting state’s aspirations for the development of the aviation sector.
“I indeed salute the Honourable Minister of Aviation for his supportive role for Osun and other states. We thank the Minister for supporting our vision to tap into the multi-trillion-dollar global aviation industry.
“Once again, I congratulate Governor Makinde and the entire people of the South West on this landmark event.”
